This weekend we participated in the historical dissemination event “Revive History” in La Rozas de Madrid, organized by Codex Belix. The event was a great success with the public.
At this event, we showed the uniforms of the 1st Polish Armored Division and participated in the staging of the closing of the Falaise Stock Exchange.
We also showed the uniform and flight equipment of a Polish fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain in 1940. In addition, at the request of the organization, our colleague spent the entire Sunday morning in the cockpit of the twin-engine CASA C212 Aviocar, which had ceded by the Air Force, explaining to the public the controls of the plane, the rudiments of flight and the differences and similarities between the controls of this device and a twin-engine Wellington bomber, used by Polish squadrons in their first bombing missions over the Third Reich.
There was a very exciting moment when, by surprise, to thank us, an older lady appeared on our display and told us: “my father wore this same uniform, he was a sergeant and he fought in Monte Cassino”, then she showed us photos of her father from the time of war.

Poland First to Fight at “Revive History” in La Rozas de Madrid

Este fin de semana participamos en el evento de divulgación histórica “Revive la Historia” en la Rozas de Madrid, organizado por Codex Belix el evento fue un gran éxito de público.En el mismo mostramos los uniformes de la 1ª División Acorazada Polaca y participamos en la escenificación del cierre de la Bolsa de Falaise.
También mostramos el uniforme y equipo de vuelo de un piloto de caza polaco en la Batalla de Inglaterra en 1940. Además, a petición de la organización,nuestro compañero estuvo toda la mañana del domingo, en la carlinga del bimotor CASA C212 Aviocar, que había cedido el Ejército del Aire, explicando al público los controles del avión, los rudimentos del vuelo y las diferencias y similitudes entre los controles de este aparato y un bombardero bimotor Wellington, usado por los escuadrones polacos en sus primeras misiones de bombardeo sobre el III Reich.
Hubo un momento muy emocionante cuando, por sorpresa, para darnos las gracias, se presentó en nuestro display una señora mayor que nos dijo: “mi padre llevaba este mismo uniforme, era sargento y lucho en Monte Cassino”, después estuvo enseñándonos fotos de su padre del tiempo de la guerra.
